Amid Election season, just two weeks before Maharashtra Elections 2024, the Election Commission removed the state's DGP, Rashmi Shukla, days after the Congress and opposition MVA alleged that the state police chief had a "clear bias" against the opposition. The EC has directed that the senior officer take charge as the interim DGP.
