💫IF = Imaginary Friend💫
Why do kids have imaginary friends? Children can develop invisible friends to practice their new social skills or to process the things they see and experience. Your child might create an imaginary companion to: Listen to and support them. Play with them.
60 percent of children between ages 3-8 have an IF (imaginary friend)
Recognise when your child has been through a trauma or change in their lives and identify what extra support they may need.
How do you approach the IF? Acknowledge it, respect it and ask curious questions about it.
There are two types of IF. 1. Completely invisible and 2. An object
