[ Ссылка ] 888 282-1353 Welcome everybody. A little different format this week. We are delighted that today is World Champagne Day, so we will be discussing Malbec. That's what we do here. Its how we roll. If someone could be kind enough to send us a calendar of all the different wine days in advance of 2018 that would be fantastic.
So we are going to discuss Malbec because we friggin love Malbec at Cellar Angels. We are going to be discussing the 2013 Maroon Wines Reserve Malbec. Malbec is an interesting grape because it is a fantastic grape that hails from the Bordeaux region of France. In fact, it is one of the five red grapes in Bordeaux. You have Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Malbec and Cabernet Franc. And it is historically used as a blending grape. That is until you get outside of France. Specifically the United States and Argentina. Argentina dominates the globe with regards to Malbec production. Somewhere in the vicinity of 60 to 70% or maybe even higher, comes from Argentina. But this Malbec comes from Napa Valley. From Paul Maroon at Maroon Wines. And he sources it from a distinct vineyard site on Howell Mountain. Malbec loves elevation. So this is fairly high up on Howell Mountain on a southeastern facing ridge. And what you get is just this gorgeous, beautiful - I wish you could see this color - because it is spectacularly vibrant, opaque. Dark ripe fruits, cocoa, some milk chocolate, spice, maybe a hint of green pepper. Awesome. Spectacular. Paul made 820 cases of this. 14.2% alcohol. No crazy heat at all. Extremely well balanced I don't even feel any alcohol. What I get are those rich, black fruit notes. Really really ripe plum. Kind of that luscious, juicy, dripping plum when you bite into it you better have a napkin! Blueberry, blackberry. It just has great vibrancy which is the hallmark of a great wine. Very soft tannins. Chris Corley - if you know the Montecello Winery or Montecello Family or the Corley brothers. Chris Corley is the winemaker for this. A phenom of a winemaker in the Napa Valley. And really Malbec, this Malbec, is all about balance and structure. It's ridiculously good. This is a good part of my job on #ChampagneDay drinking Malbec! It did get 91 points on The Beverage Tasting Institute if points are your thing. It ranks very very highly. And quite frankly, you need to know that Paul Maroon and Maroon Wines are open for business. They will tell you we are open. You can go to www.cellarangels.com and buy this for a reduced price. This is a great wine to have with any grilled meat. And if you are grilling meat, you definitely need to know the people at Mangia TV. I have some Mangia rub every single day! On my farm fresh, open pasture, cage free, pesticide free eggs with Mangia. Pheasant, grilled meats, game. The color on this is fantastic. By the way, this is 100% Malbec. This is what it is all about in Napa Valley on Howell Mountain, doing what they do. Thank you so much for all the support! Napa and Sonoma open for business. So definitely start buying direct. Don't buy from the retail store and think you are helping the wineries. You are not. Buy direct, go to the winery website. Go to cellarangels.com. We've kept a lot of the wines on longer to raise more awareness and more funds for Napa and Sonoma. Every purchase makes a difference. Thank you so much. Have a great weekend and we'll talk soon. Be good to one another.
