Charlie Patton Rides Again! is a new acoustic blues clan --- guitar player, a harp player, maybe others, who've gone back to go forward in the great tradition of American country blues music. Songs about roads, keys, women, prison, highways, glory, mama, tamales, death, hanging, burdens, lonesome valleys, from the greats: Mississippi John Hurt, Sleepy John Estes, Robert Johnson, Tommy Johnson, Big Bill Broonzy...The two have no outstanding warrants and play on a sliding scale anywhere between Philadelphia and Washington DC because of the incident in New York City. They're just rolling out, so give them a chance to show up and play!

Hillary Chapman learned country blues from Archie Edwards in his barbershop near Rhode Island Ave.. Archie was a good friend of Mississippi John Hurt, and he had Memphis Minnie's guitar standing in the corner. Fast forward: Hillary, known as Hound dog, played with the almost infamous, somewhat legendary, average white Philly blues bands the Bonnevilles and the Rockadiles that included the great harp player Seth Holzman and Paul Ramagano, later of Tommy Conwell's Little Kings. He then did a stretch in Nashville as a songwriter.

Dennis Conlan got a late start at the harp but—inspired by Kim Wilson, Rod Piazza, and William Clark—he caught up fast. He blew like hell with the great progressive blues band from South Jersey, Two Bad Jim. With his blues band, O Brother, he recorded a debut cd and performed at Philadelphia institutions like the Ardmore Cabaret, the Chestnut Cabaret, and Tom and Jerry's. He regularly sat in with local blues heroes, the Rockadiles, and continues to jam with the DiFransesco brothers.
