“Blackmailing is not a European attitude. To blackmail somebody because observing the common rules, this is not European. Maybe Greece too should observe our common rules, or at least accept help to observe them together. Then we do not have to face such challenges. This is what we can ask for from our Greek friends, with all due respect, instead of threatening and blackmailing."

STORYLINE:
Hungary accused Greece of trying to blackmail the EU on Thursday.
Speaking in Budapest, Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs Peter Szijjarto said that Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras is blackmailing the EU by threatening to block decisions at a forthcoming EU migration summit if sharing of the refugee burden is not made obligatory for member states.
This came after Tsipras said on Wednesday that from now on Greece "will not assent to agreements" unless all its partners are forced to participate proportionately in the relocation and resettlement of refugees.
