2009 kinetic sculpture race in Arcata, CA. This is a 3-day, 42-mile event that is far more about creative, low-tech engineering, art, and enjoying life--giving children a "good reason to grow up" as it's founder, Hobart Brown said.
Shot mostly from my "tall bike", it was my first time attending. I was the "pit crew" for Peter Wagner, aka "Whymcycles" (Google it--tons of stuff on him and his creations.) I plan on being there next year with my own machine. This was my first "produced" video ever, so please excuse any non-professional aspects, but I think it *did* come out well. I'd appreciate any feedback.
This video has been selected for showing at the 2009 Bicycle Film Festival in Davis, CA, happening on Oct. 24, 2009. I'd be there for the premiere showing, but I'll be (hopefully) in my first KS race with my own machine that very day down in Ventura, CA.
