Today as we celebrate this Sexual and Reproductive Health Awareness Day it is very important to discuss about safe health practices. This is important not just to prevent unwanted pregnancies. But also to avoid any kind of unintended sexual transmitted diseases and also to make sure that we have an overall healthy living. So firstly let us talk about the barrier method of protection which is the contraceptive method called condom usage which is widely available all across. But the education with regards to its proper usage and the availability and the way how it functions is absolutely not available much on the internet or in our schools and in our education system. So what we have to concentrate and what we have to understand is that condoms are very good and very effective if used properly and they are easily available and thirdly they avoid sexually transmitted diseases like HIV gonorrhea, chlamydia etc. Equally important is understanding and spreading awareness with regards to the other contraceptive methods which are available especially for males and for females like using contraceptive tablets or contraceptive devices like copper T or using other forms of methods like barrier contraceptives for females as well female condoms etc and other various contraceptive methods available. Why is this important ? Not just to prevent unwanted pregnancies or to prevent STDs but also as a family planning goal which is is the bigger picture here equally important . The next step is open communication between the partners. Yes discussing about your sexual health with one another and also with your medical personnel your specialist doctors with whom you consult telling them about your sexual histories about your STD histories or about your multiple sexual partners. History all this is also very important not just in helping you get treatment better but also to understand your past medical treatment history. Furthermore open communication between the partners is very very important. Helping your partners understand your previous sexual activities your STD testing history and also in understanding which contraceptive methods to choose is very very important which will help build a very strong relationship foundation as well. So sexual well-being is not just important for your personal health but also to build a health healthier safe and much more resilient society.
