Currently, health care workers, child care providers, teachers, food and agriculture workers, and those over 65 years of age are eligible to receive a vaccine. The list will expand March 15. During a virtual meeting Friday, health state officials talked about the next group of people who will be eligible to receive the vaccine. “It’s based on the CDC list of conditions that put people at higher risk for severe covid 19 disease,” said Dr. Erica Pan, State Epidemiologist for California Department of Public Health. “Some of it, the criteria was clarified or narrowed bc there was a large number of people to work closely with our draft and guidelines workgroup to clarify and define that sublist a little bit further,” she continued.
