Day 23 of the National Parks Plus USA Road Trip. We wanted to see the swamps of Louisiana and that's what Barataria Preserve, just south of New Orleans, is all about. The Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve offers some amazing images and scenes of still water, grey moss, snakes with their tongues flicking, and maybe -- just maybe -- alligators. After all that, we found a place for dinner called Wegeaux Cafe in Westwego, a suburb of NO. Excellent home-cooked food capped off a perfect Louisiana day.
