A Hollywood superstar goes public with a very personal announcement. Oscar-winning actress Angelina Jolie announced Monday that she has undergone a preventative double mastectomy, after learning that she had a very high risk of developing breast cancer. Jolie reveals to the New York Times that "The decision to have a mastectomy was not easy. But it is one I am very happy that I made. I can tell my children that they don't need to fear they will lose me to breast cancer." The actress goes on to explain that her partner Brad Pitt and their six children contributed to her decision, and now she's speaking out to educate other women in similar situations.
