First short video takes of the initial test runs of my newly built Rover Jet 1 Recreation. This is a faithfull replica of the worlds first gas turbine driven car, the Rover Jet 1 (which can be seen at the Science Museum in Kensington/London/UK). My Recreation is powered by a Rover two shaft turbine which drives the rear wheels, just like the original one. The official roll out will be during a meeting of historic race cars at the Austrian F1 circuit (Red Bull Ring/Spielberg) on October 3rd, 2015. For more information please visit: [ Ссылка ] . Power plant: Rover gas turbine, 2 shaft, 150 HP @60.000 rpm (gas producer) and 40.000 rpm (power turbine)
Transmission: single gear without clutch, rear axle geared to 120mph/190km/h
Fuel: Kerosene Jet A1, approx 4-6mpg (50-70l/100km)
Chassis: Rover P4 from 1950, 4 disc brakes
