Former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe Assassinated

Japan’s longest serving prime minister was assassinated while giving a speech on Friday July 8, 2022. Shinzo Abe was reportedly shot twice by a suspect using a homemade gun, and later died at a hospital. Gun violence is rare in Japan, and the assassination has shocked the country and other world leaders.
