Multi-drug TB (MDR-TB) continues to be a challenge, hence reliable, rapid molecular tests are required. Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) is a promising new modality for enabling personalized diagnosis and detailed drug susceptibility profile. Newer anti-TB drugs like Bedaquiline, Pretomanid, Delaminid are effective drugs and can be included in treatment regimens with limited access to private sector. Early diagnosis and prompt short-course are the key to successful treatment of MDR -TB patients.
