Lijiang Old Town is a historic town located in the Yunnan province of southwestern China. The town is situated at the foot of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and is known for its well-preserved traditional architecture and ancient waterways.

The town was originally built during the Song Dynasty (960-1279) and was an important stop on the ancient Tea Horse Road, a trading route that connected Yunnan province with Tibet, Sichuan, and other parts of China.

Lijiang Old Town is home to many ancient buildings, including the Mu Family Mansion, which was once the residence of a powerful local ruler during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). The town also features a number of narrow lanes and alleys, small bridges, and canals that are still used for transportation and irrigation.

In 1997, Lijiang Old Town was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its unique blend of ethnic cultures, architecture, and landscape. Today, the town is a popular tourist destination and attracts millions of visitors each year who come to experience its rich history and vibrant culture.
