(26 Feb 2022) Hundreds of Ukrainians, mainly from Odesa, crossed into Moldova on Saturday seeking refuge from the Russian invasion.
A tent settlement has been erected by the Moldovan authorities to deal with influx.
Most Ukrainians making the crossing have family in Moldova, but some have been housed in tents at the Palanca border crossing.
The rescue service of Moldova has been providing food and drink for the incoming refugees.
Residents of Odesa said that the situation was bad, and many were running away, afraid for their lives.
The waiting time at the Ukrainian-Moldovan border is about 16 hours at the moment.
