RECTANGLE SOFTBOX

Diffuser sheets (or scrims) are not really softboxes but they are an affordable lighting modifier for natural light or strobes.You can easily mount it on a c-stand backdrop stand. It helps mimic natural daylight because it offers a wider spread of light in a wider area. Perfect to use in fashion or portrait photography because it offers a less obvious light dropoff and also reduces shadows.
OCTABOX SOFTBOX

Due to it being an open lighting modifier, that means there's going to be a lot more light spillage and is less directional not like a softbox. Perfect for travelling as it's quite compact.
