IMF"한국 성장률 3.0%→3.2%…재정확장•완화적 통화정책 유지해야
The International Monetary Fund projects the Korean economy to grow 3-point-2-percent this year,... up two tenths of a percentage point from its forecast last month.
The IMF expects the pace of Korea's economy to continue near that level into next year, too,... staying at around 3 percent.
The findings were released after an IMF team's two-week visit to Seoul.
As for why the higher projection, the head of the team pointed to the government's expansionary fiscal policies including its 9-point-8-billion U.S. dollar supplementary budget bill... in combination with the country's record-low interest rates.
But he added that the government needs to do more to increase flexibility in the labor market when it comes to hiring and firing,... all the while boosting social security,... in order to pick up the country's potential growth rate, which currently stands at 3 percent.
