Epstein worked as a screenwriter for 50 years and is best remembered for CASABLANCA. He and his twin brother Philip wrote the screenplay along with Howard Koch and earned an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay. Epstein also wrote and was award-nominated for such films as FOUR DAUGHTERS, PETE 'N TILLIE and REUBEN, REUBEN. Here, he is interviewed by Walter Matthau in 1994.
