About the artist:
Uma Ramakrishnan hails from a rich musical lineage where her family
members belong to Classical Tradition. At the nascent age of 7, Uma made
her humble beginnings in Carnatic music from her aunt Smt Meenakshi
Ammal. She also had the opportunity to learn from "Sangeetha
Kalaarathna, Smt Jayalakshmi Srinivasan" (Popularly known as Kerala
MSS) who held high repute among her peer musicians and was also “A”
graded artiste of the All India Radio.
