Neighbours who play together, win together and thats exactly whats happened at Low Fell, Gateshead where 13 winning tickets shared the £25,000 street prize.

Its the second time postcode NE9 5AS has won. Last time round, the winners spread the word, so when the prize team returned there were even more players to reward!

Second-time winner Maria Arceri said: I won last year and my husband Vincenzo realised hed missed out, so he signed up, and so did my friends in the street. Now theyre glad they did!

Maria, 55, and Vincenzo, 49, own Melanzanas café bar in Durham City and have four grown-up children and two grandchildren. The pair won £1, 924 apiece.

Four other players at Heathfield Place also won £1,924 each., including Norma Patrick who said: I couldnt believe it when I heard you were coming here again!

Biggest winner was Vrashaa Deshpande whose three tickets netted her £5, 772.Its terrific what a great surprise! she said.

Lisa de Kroon, who won £3,848 with two tickets, certainly knows how terrific the Peoples Postcode Lottery is. Lisa, 29, and husband Walter come from Holland where they played the Dutch version of the lottery, so of course they signed up here when they moved to the UK.

Walter said: This is amazing Lisa won last year too! After that win we spread the word and got lots of people at our workplaces to sign up, but we never expected to win again!

All we can say is, a big thanks and keep up the good work for the more people sign up, the more local charities benefit too.
