Jakarta is one of the fastest sinking cities in the world, due to a combination of land subsidence, ground water depletion and rising sea levels. While President Jokowi’s government is working to prevent floods and protect Jakarta’s coastlines, some of the islands around Indonesia’s capital have already disappeared below the waves. CNA Insight producer Ikhwan Rivai visits one of these threatened islands, where he witnessed history literally being lost to the sea.
