How to Make our own Texture paints. This can include Stirland Mud, Astrogranite, or any thing that is essentially a textured paint that you apply to bases or Scenery.
The original idea cam from Lukes APS and I thank him for making his ideas available. I hope that Ive taken his idea a step forward and shown you that you can adapt things to suit your own needs.
In this video Ill make enough for approx two pots. GW sell their pots at about £5 EACH while mine costs about 12 pence per pot. Obvioulsy you will need to buy a pot to put it in, or you can use an empty GW pot, but even if you do buy a pot each potful will still cost less than 20% of the GW standard price. In addition this one is more adaptable, for example, if you wanted to make muddy base and astrogranite bases you would have to buy two pots at a cost of £10. Because mine has no paint in it, meaning you have to paint it once dry you can use the same pot to make muddy or astrogranite bases, or in fact any bases you wanted.
Here is a link to Lukes video, its very good and I recommend watching it
