In this episode of Studio Quest I discuss my reasoning behind getting rid of my Roland TD-11 drum set and SPD-30 Octapad in order to free up room and create a more logical MIDI drum setup. I also discuss some of the pros and cons of using an electric drum set vs a MIDI controller such as a Novation Launchpad Pro or Native Instruments Maschine.

At the end of the day, electric drum sets are modeled after acoustic drum sets which are only that form factor because of size limitations to create the acoustic sound.
