Anti-Hijab protests in Iran spiralled after riot police clashed with university students. The Sharif University in Tehran has suspended classes after armed riot police chased students and fired teargas shells in a bid to quell dissent. Shots can also be heard in several videos going viral on social media. Another video showed security forces chasing dozens of students trapped in the university’s underground parking.
