Dr. Janine shares why you should not take these supplements if you are over fifty. She explains how low-term high-dose vitamin A can cause bone thinning, liver damage, skin irritation, and joint and bone pain. She looks at how melatonin is not good at any age but is often suggested for people as they age and have trouble sleeping. Lastly, Dr. Janine does not recommend taking synthetic B vitamins especially cyanocobalamin B12 or folic acid if you’re over fifty. As always if you are taking supplements make sure they are whole-food vitamins made without fillers or flow agents like magnesium stearate.
