Jermaine Cavalier, formally known as "Jay Cav" was born November 27,1992 in New Orleans,La. having gone through similar struggles such as Lil Wayne and Llyod (artist who put N.O on the map), Jay Cav is determined to create a different view of the city by using insightful and thought provoking lyrics.
After graduating from Algiers Technology Academy, Jay Cav continued on his road to greatness. He dropped his mixtape "Faced with Fame" June 12, 2011. With Songs such as "Favorite song" (which had a feature with Marco)and "Movie", the mixtape was a complete success. After dropping "Faced with Fame", Jay Cav did numerous local performances. He also participated in New Orleans Idol (the cities imitation of American Idol) where his fan base nearly trippled and he made it to the final 3. Cav also performed at Industry Influence opening for Mystikal.
It is impossible to put Jay Cav in a category with other artist because he is simply one of a kind. Cav's musicis more than just lyrics, its an expression of his deepest thoughts and a way to uplift the people. His music is more thanjust lyrics and a beat, it is a lifestyle. It is a way for people to maximize there potential. With all of Jay Cav's progress in his hometown, his sudden move to California to follow his dreams as an "UP COMING ACTOR" leaves his fans wondering "Whats Next?" No one knows exactly what to expect, but they do know it will be GREAT.
