16346 Thiruvananthapuram Central - Mumbai Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Netravati Express, hauled by GOC WDP-4D numbered 40463, accelerating through Bhoke Railway Station and crossing with 12051 Mumbai Ch. Shivaji Maharaj Terminus - Madgaon Jn Jan Shatabdi Express.
The Netravati Express (16345/46) is a daily Express train connecting capital cities of Kerala and Maharashtra. It operates between Thiruvananthapuram Central and Lokmanya Tilak Terminus. The train runs on the Konkan Railway.
Initially the train the Bombay Kurla (LTT)–Mangalore/Cochin Netravati (Cochin–Kurla) Express was plied between Bombay to Mangalore/Kochi as link via the inland Poona, Gulbarga,Guntakal, Renigunta, Krishnarajapuram, Palakkad route parting at Shornur Junction. Trains on the old route used to take 48 hours to reach Mangalore from Bombay. After the Konkan Railway line was operational in 1998, the route has been changed via the Konkan Railway and the Mangalore–Bombay running time was reduced drastically to 16 hours. On March 1, 1998, the Bombay Kurla (LTT)–Mangalore/Cochin Netravati (Cochin–Kurla) Express started running via the Konkan, making it the first scheduled service that ran the length of the Konkan Railway. The link express was made a single train till Kochi and further extended till Thiruvananthapuram (which is the capital city of Kerala) from 10 February 2001. Mangalore city is situated at the banks of the Netravati River. Since this trains terminating point was Mangalore back then, the name of the train was set as Netravati Express.
The CSMT - Madgaon Junction Jan Shatabdi Express is a Superfast Express train belonging to Indian Railways - Konkan Railway division that runs between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus and Madgaon in India.
It operates as train number 12051 from CSMT to Madgaon Junction and as train number 12052 in the reverse direction. During monsoon timetable , 12052 will not go in reverse direction due to time clash. So it will rest at Madgaon Junction coming from CSMT and next day that same rake will originate from Madgaon Junction. It is one of the fastest and longest route running Jan Shatabdi train in Konkan Railways and is immensely popular amongst the people travelling to Konkan and Goa. Earlier this train used to originate/terminate at Dadar Terminus in Mumbai. This train has presently has 1 Vistadome Coach, 3 AC Chair Car , 10 Second Class Jan Shatabdi seating coaches , 1 SLR Coach & 1 Generator Car and has RSA with 11007/08 Mumbai - Pune - Mumbai Deccan Express . This train runs via Dadar, Thane, Panvel, Chiplun, Ratnagiri, Kankavali, Kudal, Sawantwadi Road, Thivim to Madgaon Junction.
