The Religions for Peace (RfP) global movement launched its 2020-2025 Strategic Plan, identifying and committing to six strategic goals to advance multi-religious collaborative action for peace: Peaceful, Just and Inclusive Societies; Gender Equality; Environment; Freedom of Thought, Conscience and Religion; Interreligious Education; and Global Partnerships.
This plan, approved and adopted by the World Council, is the culmination of sustained multi-religious and multistakeholder debate and consensus-building for over a year, beginning with national and regional consultations held leading up to the RfP 10th World Assembly, and including the framework and action points adopted by over 1,000 religious representatives from over 125 countries during this convening. The plan was further delineated during the Multi-religious and Multi-stakeholder Partnership for Peace and Development by 250 representative religious and spiritual leaders who were joined by government officials, diplomats, United Nations representatives, leaders of partner organizations and philanthropists.
RfP wishes to extend a special appreciation to its movement and partners, who were engaged and provided invaluable inputs throughout the most representative strategic planning process in its 50-year history.
The launch of this historic plan aligns with RfP’s 50th anniversary and commemorative events and projects are already underway across the globe.
With the leadership and steadfast dedication of our movement, we will continue our collaborative endeavour to advance multi-religious collaboration and action for peace.
