In 1939, more than 900 Jewish refugees boarded the German ocean liner St. Louis to flee Nazi persecution. They were denied entry to Cuba, the United States — and, finally, Canada. The exhibition St. Louis – Ship of Fate explores this dark chapter from Canada’s past and the tragedy that resulted.
