Airbnb has announced its 2024 Winter Release, introducing the Co-Host Network along with over 50 platform upgrades designed to elevate both guest and host experiences. This initiative aims to make hosting more accessible while providing a highly personalized booking journey for guests, from search to payment.
Co-Host Network: Streamlining Hosting for Property Owners
The newly launched Co-Host Network allows property owners to seamlessly hire local co-hosts directly through the Airbnb app. These experienced co-hosts handle tasks such as guest communication, booking management, and listing optimization. With over 10,000 co-hosts across 10 countries, Airbnb is making it easier than ever for hosts to find qualified help.
Notably, co-hosts in the network are often Superhosts, with an average rating of 4.86 stars—higher than the 4.62-star average for larger property management companies. This reflects the high-quality service hosts can expect when partnering with co-hosts. The Co-Host Network is tailored to meet specific hosting needs, helping property owners optimize their Airbnb experience without sacrificing time.
“With the Co-Host Network, we’re taking the work out of hosting,” said Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky. “You provide the home, and we’ll provide an exceptional co-host.”
A More Personalized Experience for Guests
Airbnb’s latest upgrades focus on delivering a more customized experience for guests. Some key enhancements include:
Suggested Destinations and Search Filters: Airbnb will recommend travel locations and search filters based on a guest's past trips and booking preferences.
Personalized Listing Highlights: Listings will now feature customized highlights, such as playrooms for families or backyards for outdoor lovers, tailored to the guest’s needs.
Localized Payments: Airbnb is rolling out regional payment methods to accommodate global travelers, including options like Vipps in Norway and MoMo in Vietnam.
“For decades, travel apps have been one-size-fits-all. We’re changing that,” said Chesky, signaling a shift towards greater personalization for users across the platform.
Host-Focused Upgrades
In addition to the Co-Host Network, Airbnb is rolling out 20+ new features aimed at improving the host experience:
Price Tips: Suggested pricing based on similar local listings to help hosts stay competitive.
Quick Replies: Customizable message templates for common communications like check-in instructions or welcome messages.
Earnings Dashboard: A new tool for hosts to view detailed reports on earnings, payments, and financial tracking.
Availability
The Co-Host Network is now live in 10 countries, including the U.S., UK, Canada, Australia, and Mexico. Guest and host updates will begin rolling out globally, offering enhanced features just in time for the winter travel season.
Airbnb’s 2024 Winter Release sets a new benchmark for the vacation rental industry, offering hosts and travelers alike a more streamlined, personalized, and efficient experience.
