Our adventure led us to the Swiss Alps (Saas-Almagell), right along the Italian border, where we sought the solid snow that's ideal for traversing without skis. Our plan was a multi-day hike, with aspirations of conquering summits such as Jazzihorn or Stellihorn. Undertaking a winter hike in these high mountains is akin to an expedition; thorough preparation is paramount. One must be equipped to handle any situation that might arise in such unpredictable terrain.
However, the most critical element for our journey was the weather. A favorable forecast is the green light for such endeavors. With our bags packed and spirits high, we eagerly awaited our weather window. As soon as it opened, we seized the opportunity, embarking on what promised to be yet another remarkable chapter in our adventures...
