Congratulations to Vincent Fantauzzo, winner of the 2011 Metro Gallery Art Award. The award winning work, 'The Creek -- 1977′, presents a dramatic scene following a car accident in a remote Australian town. Using himself as the primary subject, Vincent has created a Caravaggio-inspired work, worthy of the $50,000 award. Joel Rea was highly commended for his painting, 'Moment of Truth', a work which depicts the contemporary struggles of global warming and a troubled environment.

Crowds filled Metro Gallery last Tuesday evening to hear The Hon. Jeff Kennett announce the winner and congratulate all finalists on their successes.
