How to get rid of a penis curvature
One of the questions we get asked most here at Moorgate is how to get rid of a curvature in the penis. A curvature of the Penis is called Peyronie’s disease and is often caused through a sudden injury or trauma to the penis that sometimes happens as a result of sexual intercourse. This causes a trauma to the shaft and a formation of scar tissue (plaque) which causes a curvature on erection.
This curvature can be so severe that it is very hard or impossible to have sex as a result. The good news is that there is treatment out there to fix this curvature through a variety of procedures. Popular with the NHS is the Nesbit procedure that straightens the penis but leaves it a lot shorter than it was originally.
However we here at Moorgate offer a procedure called “plaque incision and grafting” which straightens the penis as well as minimising any loss of length. This puts incisions into the plaque itself, then using a graft in the scar tissue to keep the penis the same length.
