A Data Protection Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring that organisations comply with not only the requirements of the data protection laws, but also the internal data protection policies of the organisations. Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act, Data Controllers and Processors of Major Importance are required to appoint a Data Protection Officer.
