Most of us are familiarly with Methane (CH4) as natural gas. Because the boiling point of methane is so low it must be cooled for it to become a liquid and cooled even more to become solid.
Methane boils as -161.5 degrees Celsius. In order for Methane to be a liquid the temperature much be at or below -161.6 C. One the temperature is lowered to -182.5 C the Methane will freeze and become a solid.
Note that for the boiling point of Methane we are talking about Standard Pressure or 1 atm. Changing the pressure will also lead to changes in the boiling point.
