Paul Felder and Dan Hooker were two rising UFC Lightweights in 2018. And it felt like it was destiny for the the two to fight after Hooker politely called out Felder in his face during an postfight interview. Felder would accept the challenge that night. But the kind words would stop as the buildup towards their fight began to get heated in late 2019 for the February 2020 matchup. Hooker felt disrespected by Felder's memes poking fun at Dan's last name. Felder insisted it was only a joke, but didn't mind that it motivated Hooker to give him a tough fight.
