STORYLINE:
Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon on Monday said that Israel was "in the middle of a hard and complicated war" with Palestinian terrorists.
Israel on Monday announced a "total ban" on Palestinian travel in much of the West Bank and sealed off a chunk of the Gaza Strip with tanks in response to Palestinian attacks on Israelis that killed 13 people over 24 hours.
Also on Monday, a victim of Sunday's bus bomb attack was buried by the Druze community at Mghar, in northern Israel.
The dead man, Sergeant Roni Kamal Ghanem, aged 21, was one of nine people killed in the attack at Meron Junction in the Galilee region.
He had been on his way to work at a base in the northern border of Israel where he was serving as a career soldier.
