▬ Identifying where the fault is ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
The first thing we need to do is identify exactly where the fault is on our network. To help us narrow the search area, we dispatch our teams to strategic points to break up our network. This will be done manually switching parts of the network to identify the faulty section. This allows us to restore as many customers as possible, but may well result in your supply flicking on and off. Once the section is identified, there are a number of options available to help locate the fold.
▬ Locating the fault ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
The contact centre will communicate any potential causes reported by customers to the onsite teams. The onsite teams will then cheque the reports to identify if they are responsible for the fault. The teams will also start to patrol the overhead network. The helicopter unit can be used to speed restoration. Our underground network will also be investigated using specialised finding equipment. Once the team locate the fault, the repairs can start.
