Another body language reel - this time about panting!
I frequently get asked about the difference of stress panting and heat panting.
And as always, we have to look at the whole dog, their behavior and the context of their environment!
🎾 Your dog is panting after a game of fetch? They are very likely “just” hot and need to cool down!
💉 Your dog is panting in the climatized vet office? They are worried about what’s going to happen next 😟
🥰 Your dog is panting after running around with their best doggy friend? They are hot!
😐 Your dog is panting on a cool day after a rude dog rushed up to them? That was probably stressful!
Did you know the subtle differences in panting?
Also: some medical conditions can be associated with unusual panting, so if your dog frequently pants in situations where they shouldn’t be hot or stressed, have them checked by a veterinarian 👩🏻⚕️
