This is day 1 of my New Zealand Adventure for the 2024 Vinfast Ironman 70.3 World Champs in Taupo.
Arrived in Auckland from
a delayed connecting flight from Sydney AUS.
Best place is the Ibis Airport Hotel since it’s about 1km away from
the airport.
Unfortunately we could not take the bus since they didn’t accept big off luggage like our bike bags. So we pushed the trolley all the way to the hotel.
Picked up our rented van from EZI from their INTERNATIONAL airport branch. (There is one at the Domestic Airport as well but my big van wasn’t available there and I really booked from the Intl Branch)
Drived to Taupo for a about 3 hours. Took a lunch break half way. Arrived in time for the Parade of Nations and Athlete Check in.
In the evening we then again walked to the evening banquet and then walk back to the hotel.
TOO MUCH WALKING may I say.
And that was day 1 of Too Much Walking.
