I discuss the types of courses you can apply to and the financial support available to you as a #graduate entry medicine applicant. At the end of the video I provide a few tips or words of advice from current graduates on the graduate entry medicine programmes.

Accelerated/fast track: four years
Conventional/standard: five years
1:58 When applying to university as a GEM applicant there are a lot of factors to consider. Some include:
2:00 Entry requirements such as: academic: entrance exams (UCAT, BMAT, GAMSAT), qualifications and non-academic: extracurricular activities and work experience.

2:29 How much the fees are – how will you afford the course? Will you have to work?
2:38 Type of courses you will apply to as a graduate- traditionally, PBL: Problem- Based Learning or integrated.
2:46 Location- this will affect costs to commute or move closer.
SO it is important that when you are applying to graduate entry medicine you do your research.
2:56 Obviously to have the best chance you have to do well in ALL aspects of your application, however your application is taken as a WHOLE.
3:13 GEM is much more competitive due to number of graduates or GEM applicants applying and because you may have more time to get appropriate work experience and demonstrate your understanding and suitability to a medical degree. (You may have also taken the entrance exams before).
