"I am under no laws but God's." This is a profound lesson that reveals the radical nature of the teachings of Jesus in ACIM. Note this quote:
"You really think that you would starve unless you have stacks of green paper strips and piles of metal discs. You really think a small round pellet or some fluid pushed into your veins through a sharpened needle will ward off disease and death. You really think you are alone unless another body is with you."
The lesson disavows everything we might have learned in this world. It rejects all notions of relativism, compromise, give and take, and gain and loss. "[T]here is no loss under the laws of God. Payment is neither given nor received. Exchange cannot be made; there are no substitutes; and nothing is replaced by something else. God's laws forever give and never take."
In ACIM Jesus is teaching us the Real World. A World where God's grace is everywhere and his Law reigns over everything. This is a World where there is no scarcity, a notion that defines everything in this world. It is perhaps important here to remember Jesus walking over the sea, and converting water to wine. God's Spirit has power over everything, material or immaterial.
