Yakovlev Yak42D (RA-42412) RusJet - A modernized version of the Yak-42 with an increased fuel supply.
The #Yak42 is a medium-range, 2nd class three-engine passenger aircraft developed by the Design Bureau named after. Yakovlev in the USSR in the mid-1970s to replace the technically outdated Tu-134. The first Soviet passenger aircraft equipped with turbofan engines with a high (5.4) bypass ratio.
The power plant is three D-36 turbofan engines with a high bypass ratio, the take-off thrust of one engine is 6500 kgf. Engine noise levels comply with ICAO standards. The engines are distinguished by their reliability, long service life and high efficiency. The side engines are located in the engine nacelles, and the second is in the fuselage at the base of the fin.
The D-36 engines do not have thrust reversal, but thanks to the low landing speed (200-205 km/h, like small propeller-driven aircraft like the An-24), spoilers and wheel brakes cope with braking during the run. Installing a reverser on the aircraft structure similar to the reverse of the Yak-40 mid-engine was considered inappropriate due to the overweight of the aircraft.
