Međunarodni skup Umjetnice i muzeji: prema novom muzeju umjetnica u Zagrebu okuplja istaknute teoretičarke, istraživačice, kustosice i muzejske djelatnice u namjeri da se ispitaju različite koncepcije, strategije i prakse ženskih i rodnih muzeja, s osobitim fokusom na muzeje umjetnica. Izlaganja su pružilauvid u povijest i kontekst nastanka ženskih i rodnih muzeja, njihove vizije i misije, strateške ciljeve i recepciju, kao i u suradnje i umrežavanja koje su realizirali na lokalnoj, nacionalnoj i međunarodnoj razini. Uz obuhvatnije razumijevanje položaja te uloge ženskih i rodnih muzeja, cilj skupa bio je potaknuti i podržati suradnju i razmjenu između različitih institucija, praktičara/ki i istraživača/ica.

Elke Krasny (Akademija likovnih umjetnosti u Beču, Austrija), Meral Akkent (Muzej roda, Istanbul, Turska), Gaby Franger (Muzej ženskih kultura, Fürth, Njemačka), Darlene Clover (Fakultet za obrazovanje, Sveučilište u Viktoriji, Kanada), Bettina Bab (Ženski muzej, Bonn, Njemačka), Harriet Loffler (Zbirka umjetnica na Koledžu Murray Edward, Cambridge, Velika Britanija).
International Meeting Women Artists and Museums: Towards a New Museum of Women Artists in Zagreb brings together esteemed museum professionals, curators, researchers, and scholars to examine and reflect upon diverse concepts, strategies, and practices of women’s and gender museums, with a specific focus on museums dedicated to women artists. Lectures provided insight into museums’ origins, visions, and missions as regards aims, strategic objectives, and audience involvement, as well as into collaborations and networks formed locally, nationally, and internationally.
The aim of the meeting was to contribute to a more comprehensive understanding of the place of museums dedicated to the art of women artists in the landscape of art museums in general and of women’s and gender museums in particular, as well as to promote cooperation and future exchanges between different institutions, practitioners, and researchers.
