This is a recipe for the ultimate creamy coleslaw! My sister-in-law came up with this recipe back in the late 1970's / early 1980's. She and my brother-in-law used to like to go out to eat at restaurants and one of their favorite restaurants always served a small bowl of coleslaw on the table. When she asked the restaurant for the recipe, they said that they couldn't share it with her. She spent months experimenting until she came up with a recipe that tasted exactly like the coleslaw that was served at the restaurant. This is that recipe.
Here is the full recipe:
*Linda's Ultimate Creamy Coleslaw*
1 medium head cabbage
1 medium green pepper, diced
1 carrot, shredded fine
2.5 cups mayo
1 cup sour cream
1/4 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup half and half
1 TB lemon juice
2 TB salad oil
5 tsp sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
In a large bowl, combine the cabbage, pepper, and carrot. Set aside. In a medium bowl, combine all of the other ingredients to make the dressing. Stir well to combine. Pour the dressing over the vegetable mixture in the big bowl. Mix well. Best when refrigerated 24 hours before serving.
