"Air defence or the air defence systems is much more complicated issue and complex issue than just only the question to have the patriots in the country or not to have them. And yes we remember and we will remind our partners, NATO allies that very important element of the conclusions of NATO summit in Madrid was air defence systems in the eastern flank of NATO. Air defence as a principle. And this is the reason why we have to switch from the declarations to the actions to the decisions. And I hope very much I'm looking forward to cooperate with all allies, but also with Germany, which is responsible for eFP (enhanced Forward Presence) leadership (of a multinational NATO battlegroup stationed in Lithuania) cooperate on different kind of elements of air defence system. And as I mentioned, air defence systems are not only about patriots. And we will seek the opportunity to implement their defence system in Lithuania. And we will talk about the concrete elements of your defence systems in my country."

5. SOUNDBITE (Polish) Andrzej Duda, Poland President:
"Looking from the military perspective, of course, it would be best for the protection of Poland as well to have those missiles deployed in a certain distance from the Polish border in the territory of Ukraine. In that case, they would provide the best possible protection both for Ukraine and for Poland."

"However, as far as the decision is concerned on the deployment of those missiles, on the deployment of launchers, on the deployment of the entire system - this decision is up to Germany. It's up to our allies within NATO, after the Germans."

7. SOUNDBITE (Polish) Andrzej Duda, Poland's President:
"In Pshevadov indeed a tragic accident happened. Of course it is the fault of Russia, because it was Russia who started the aggression against Ukraine. It was Russia who attacked Ukraine. So actually, on the 15th of November, missiles were launched by Russia on the Ukrainian territory. Russian missiles bombarded and rained down on the Ukrainian territory. Ukraine defended itself as a result of the defence, this tragic accident happened. As far as the investigation is concerned, it is still ongoing. Of course, all the activities on this part of the accident have been now closed. We are now in the face of laboratory tests which are being conducted. As far as my position is concerned, nothing has changed from the moment I made my statement. All of us are waiting for the conclusion of the investigation. And of course, I'm not intervening in it in any way."
