This young rat (thought it was a mouse at first) is suffering from rodenticide (this is inches from a bait box). The poor thing could barely move. The problem also is anything that eats this rat--cats, owls, etc.--will also get sick and die a painful death. This makes rat populations worse as we are extirpating their natural predators.
