Tge PRC 05 SMI on Sao Miguel starts right next to the popular Lagoa do Canario. The hike is a 4km round-trip, not far from Sete Cidades. It takes only 1.5 to 2 hours and is the perfect short hike if you are visiting Lagoa do Canario.

On the trail, you will hike past volcanic cones and small lakes. A highlight is the colorful area around Lagoas das Empadadas.

The part around the Lagoas das Empadadas is not part of the official trail, but we highly recommend it.
