Hey babes,
I'm so excited to bring you this new roleplay where I play your sweet mommy who comforts you after a bad dream. I put a lot of love into this video, as always, and I designed it with what I know helps me after nightmares in mind, and I combined that with research on the best techniques to provide and find comfort after nightmares, especially if you struggle with PTSD nightmares. I would like to start a series on nightmares. There's so much content I'm excited to explore regarding dreaming and I promise it'll be worth the wait. I hope this video makes it to everyone who needs it. I'm dedicating this one to little me who struggled with nightmares as a kid, and couldn't wait for the sun to come up. I also dedicate this to everyone else struggling with anything that makes nights hard. I promise, the sun will be up so soon. Let me keep you company and bring you some comfort, until it does.

0:00-2:00 - mommy comes into your room after waking up because she heard you crying. Concerned, she comes into to check on you, asks if you're ok, brings you water, comforts you & tells you that you're not alone, we all have nightmares sometimes, even Mommy. She asks you to drink some water, assures you she's here for you and that you can tell her anything. layered water drinking sounds.
2:00-5:00 - reminds you she loves you unconditionally. Asks you to do grounding techniques with her - feet flat on floor and describe what you feel & deep breathing to calm central nervous system
5:01-8:05 asks if your feeling a little better and tells you you're brave and strong for expressing your feelings. Lights palo Santo to banish lingering negative vibes and further help ground, as well as sets intentions for you to get back to a good night's sleep
8:06-13:00 asks you to tell her about the dream and listens as you tell her and she validates you. She relates to having exam nightmares, and shares a recurring nightmare. Tries to ease your anxiety and supports you in whatever you want to do. Tells you she loves you, she's proud of you, and you're awesome.
13:01-15:00 - we play a grounding game where I ask you to identify the color of the smiley-face sand heart to help get you focused and more grounded.
15:01-22:00 - she tucks you in, and tucks your feet in so they won't be cold. Layered sounds were incorporated to optimize experience. She offers you comfort stuffies to hold, and asks if anything is still bothering you. Leads you in progressive muscle relaxation to help release anxiety & tension.
22:01-25:52 - checks in with you. She brushes your hair and puts lotion on your face to help you feel refreshed and clear before you go back to bed. Layered sounds - hair brushing, lotion - used to enhance experience.
25:53-27:00 - wants to make sure you're grounded and sleepy so she asks you to tell her how many fingers she pointing.
27:01-29:14 - traces your face to lull you to sleep while whispering positive affirmations to you.
29:15-31:45 - asks you math questions to keep your mind on another subject while also hopefully making you sleepier
31:46-33:52 - Tells you that you look ready to fall asleep but not to hesitate to call out for her at any point if you need because Mommy is here for you :) she asks you to drink a bit more water *layered drinking sounds* she turns the light off, and wishes you a good night.
