Is it good to eat your own boogers?
It is never good unless you intend on winning a bet that you can gross out everyone around you.
I heard that it doesn't matter, because you swallow it when you sniffle.
Taking the snot out of your nose, adding germs from under your fingernails and then putting it in your mouth is not a recipe for good health. You're at greater risk of health problems than if you blow your nose.
I don't always have a kleenex.
So now you put the germs in your mouth and get saliva and snot on the hands you're about to touch everything else with. No, thank you.
Some people have that as a nervous habit.
Twirling your hair is just as annoying but a lot less gross.
It does clear your sinuses.
Do you use the paper towel you dried your hands with to open a door, because you don't want to touch a door handle someone with poop and pee germs touched? Now imagine the same reaction due to green booger germs.
I never thought of it that way.
And you're thinking the boogers are the same stuff you swallow when you sniffle. But you've got nose hairs.
So does everyone else, though some old people have a literal forest up their noses.
When you pick your nose, you're eating not just the snot but all the other pollen and gunk those filters keep out of your body. You're also increasing the risk of getting a sinus infection, by adding new germs to the collection already in your nose.
Why do so many people do that?
It is a lazy way to clean your nose for adults, whereas kids may be curious as to what is up there.
As long as it isn't a crayon stuck up there.
That makes the rounds as the funny things doctors find inside of people, though the more popular lists are odd things they find in people's ears.
